Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce Announces New CEO


Today, the Board of Directors of the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce announced Michael Monaco as the Chamber’s new CEO.

A Chula Vista resident, business owner, and community advocate since 2004, Monaco brings a wealth of experience to the CEO position. Monaco is the owner and publisher of the online publication Our Hometown Magazine. His extensive background includes past President of the Rotary Club of Chula Vista, Board Member and Fundraising Chair for the Chula Vista Public Library Foundation, Board Member of the Southwestern College Foundation, Vice President of The Eastlake Business Association, and Board of Advisors Member for the South Bay YMCA. Monaco has been a Board Member of the Chamber since 2019, serving as the Board’s Membership Director since 2021.

“We are excited to have someone with Michael’s energy, creativity, and business acumen to move the Chamber forward and to advance the interests of the Chula Vista business community,” stated Board Chair Todd Galarneau.

Established in 1927, the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce is the voice of the Chula Vista business community. The Chamber’s members generate tax revenue, build infrastructure, provide services, and employ more than 30,000 individuals in Chula Vista, the second largest city in the County of San Diego. The Chamber helps to grow new businesses and advocates for programs, projects, and public policies that protect and plan for the future of Chula Vista’s quality-of-life.
