Fire Station 5 at 391 Oxford Street was build in the 60’s. It is long over due for replacement. It is an open style dormitory with very little privacy and can accommodate only 4 firefighters. The Captains office is situated in the kitchen. There is no space designate for a gym, so one was configured in an empty apparatus bay.
New Station 5 will be relocated to 341 Orange Avenue. It will have 8 individual bunk rooms for privacy, 3 drive through apparatus bays, and a designated gym. In addition, it will have 4 offices and state of the art paging and technology to carry us through the next 50 years. The station will be approximately 12,305 square feet at a cost of $9 million dollars. Grand Opening in April 2021.
