City of Chula Vista Dog Park Grand Opening

Chula Vista Parks and Recreation Administrator Tim Farmer & Chula Vista City Councilmember John McCann, District 1

On Saturday March 7th the City of Chula Vista celebrated the Grand Opening of a 1.4-acre dog park located near Gate A in Rohr Park at 4548 Sweetwater Road, Bonita. This is the largest off leash dog park in South Bay and has the City’s first solar benches providing power to charge your mobile devices while your dogs play.

The park features a separate area for small and large dogs, a playhouse, agility equipment, and water spigots in each of the areas for keeping dogs hydrated.

Special thanks to City Landscape Architects Beth McDonnell and Patricia Ferman, City Public Works staff for relocating and installing water lines, and to Republic Services for providing waste bags for the dog park.

Rohr Dog Park was referred to City Council by Councilmember John McCann, District 1, Chula Vista. Rohr Dog Park has been a successful collaboration of community input, Chula Vista Parks and Recreation Commission, and City Staff.
