Republic Services to offer Recycling 101 Badge to Girl Scouts

1297

Calling all Girl Scouts of San Diego troops. If you are passionate about the environment, and a local troop leader, participate in Republic Services® of San Diego’s free Recycling 101 patch program. Republic Services believes everyone can work together to protect the environment and recycling is an activity people of all ages can participate in to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution and save landfill space.

Republic Services is offering a free Recycling 101 patch for Girl Scouts in Chula Vista. The program aims to increase awareness on recycling and the 3 R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle. Girl Scouts will need to complete a series of activities that are focused on the importance of recycling and conserving natural resources. Requirements are divided into three levels: Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes. Activities include learning about the local recycling system, identifying items that are recyclable and non-recyclable, and defining the 3 R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle.

It is easy to participate in the program and receive the free patches. Simply request program information by contacting Republic Services at gcastro2@republicservices.com.
